Description
A person-centred approach is the dominant approach to supporting people with a disability in Australia and much of the developed world. It is a ‘must view’ for those new to supporting people who have an intellectual disability and or autism. A complimentary module that is a perfect partner to the Introduction to intellectual disability and Introduction to autism modules.

Approximate time to complete module: 20 minutes (not including time spent looking at additional resources)

On completion of this module, you will be able to
• Define a person-centred approach
• Articulate the key concepts underpinning a person-centred approach
• Explain the purpose of a circle of support
• Explain the concept ‘Nothing about us without us’
• Identify further resources about a person-centred approach.

Emphasis is on knowledge, values and attitudes.
